Oldtimers Hockey Challenge

This year it was our pleasure to sponsor the Oldtimers Hockey Challenge when they came to Barrie, in support of the Special Olympics.  We had three pairs of tickets, two of which were given away in a draw.

They played against Barrie’s finest in a most entertaining game.  The police, assisted by an entire crew of seven year old players (who scored 4 points by themselves), lost 15 – 10.

If you haven’t been to one of these games, you’re missing a real treat.  It reminded me of the Harlem Globetrotters games of days gone by.  Lots of special effects, gags and giveaways.  We had a great time, and hopefully our lucky winners did as well.

Afterwards some of us went to the Horsepower Grill where the Oldtimers team, the Barrie Police and some of the sponsors had a buffet dinner.  It was quite an experience sitting next to legends such as Gary Leeman, Jimmy Mann, Ron Hoggarth, Igor Kravchuk and Tom Fergus.  Several of the players signed our jerseys after dinner.

If you have a chance to see them, I would encourage you to do so.  It’s a lot of fun and it’s for a great cause.

Yes, we do laptop repairs!

I had an interesting, and eye opening, conversation with a client this week.  They’d found us on Google and came up from Toronto to have us repair his HP laptop.  What made it interesting was the fact that he searched around and couldn’t find anyone that was willing to repair a laptop.

We’re coming to Rock 95!

What an exciting and very busy week we just had.  It was a very busy week for computer repairs, especially laptops.  It was also busy getting a commercial ready for Rock 95.  As of tomorrow we’ll be sponsoring the 5:00 news. 

After several tweakings of the script, we had Veronica’s cousin, Joe Martel, come up to do the voice-over.  He has an exceptional radio voice and personality and we’re very pleased to have him record for us.  He’s currently seeking a job in radio broadcasting.  If you know a station that can use him, particularly in the rock gender (he’s a fountain of rock knowledge as well), please let us know and one of us can forward a demo.

The whole process was really quite fascinating and Rock 95 did an absolutely outstanding job.. Not to mention all the efforts they made to make us feel that we were a valuable contributor.
